Given the fact that we are 2-12, I am willing to take the chance.

You're probably right that we could do better than 2-12, but being in the 4-12 to 7-9 range every year with new coaches every couple of years would certainly be a step down overall. And if you look around the league, that could easily happen.

If you look at what Fox has done over his time here we can do a lot worse. I do not blame Fox for being 2-12, that is on Hurney and JR. Fox has nothing to work with this year. You can not win without a QB.

Sorry guys, but the thinking "we could do worse" just don't wash.

With that sort of thinking, you would never make changes, at any position. Or for that matter, you should never trade your car either.

Fox is a good guy. But it is time for him to move on and let someone else take the reigns of this team.

And how ironic is that?? We had 2 QB's on the roster, and drafted 2, 3 if you count Edwards. So we get rid of 1, and still have 3, or 4, and still suck ass.

We probably should have just played Matt Moore all year when he was healthy.

We had to give Clausen a look, and I actually applaud Fox for trying it, regardless of its regrettable outcome. Clausen's first series as a pro (Tampa game) was impressive, and had they punched in that TD from the goal line, it would have been more impressive. Fact is, Clausen's weaknesses are glaring:

    • Protracted delivery
    • Absence of pocket awareness
    • Poor footwork
    • Lack of leadership
    • Poor clock management
Those are just the things I have seen. At first, I was very hard on the staff for not preparing him better. Then, I started watching Bradford and other rookies play, with either similar or lesser surrounding talent (O-Line, WR, TE, etc).

He, apparently, was highly over-valued by Kiper (not a first), but even by many NFL execs (not just Hurney) who viewed Clausen as 2nd-round material.

The things I listed above, if you're a human with a brain and a heart, can be improved upon. My problem is this: he's had weeks to improve upon these things, and it's like the progression is either non-existant, or it's crawling at a snail's pace.

That, for me, is the most painful part of watching Clausen play. He's not getting any better.

he can run to the right and backwards awesome.
he can dive onto the ground from any position in the pocket awesomely.
he can almost throw it past the line of scrimmage and out of bounds awesomely when he's running to the right and backwards awesomely.
    fuck y'all haters!

and have you forgotten his awesome ability to alienate and irritate his #1 receiver?

Seriously, I think you just hit on one of this teams MANY damn problems, because (an outsider looking in) would wonder who in the hell is this teams #1 receiver?

There are definitely talent issues to be improved, but first I believe JR needs to settle on the coach.

Don't forget about his innate ability to fumble a snap. I mean, you just can't teach this kind of stuff.
