I also read where MJ wanted to draft Brook Lopez but Larry Brown complained so much about Felton and how he wanted DJ that MJ caved in. Can you imagine how much better we would be with Lopez on board?

    a few other trade rumors

    http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/12/23/bobcats-michael-jordan-plots-next-move-in-wake-of-coaching-chan/

League sources told FanHouse that the Bobcats and Portland have discussed a trade that would send beloved small forward Gerald Wallace to the Blazers with center DeSagana Diop and point guard D.J. Augustin in exchange for center Marcus Camby and point guard Andre Miller. And while the Blazers are exploring a litany of their own options and don't appear eager to do the deal as of now, the discussion that is one of many being had by the Bobcats reveals plenty about the sort of the on-court changes Jordan has in mind for his club.

    and

    http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_magic/2010/12/can-magic-afford-to-trade-j-j-redick.html? utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+sports/magic/basketblog+(Magic+BasketBlog) &utm_content=Google+Reader

The Magic, particularly Dwight Howard, desperately need some help inside.

They likely are dangling point guards Chris Duhon and Jason Williams, and probably Quentin Richardson in trade talks.

But that might not be enough to bring back the quality big the Magic need to come even close to matching up with Boston’s physical front line in a playoff series.

Does Otis Smith play the J.J. Redick card?

Newly acquired Jason Richardson is starting at shooting guard, with Redick coming off the bench. But Gilbert Arenas
also can play the 2 as can Quentin Richardson. Hedo Turkoglu can do spot duty there.

Some names bandied about in a deal for Redick have been
Indiana’s Jeff Foster or Portland’s Joel Pryzbilla or Charlotte’s Nazr Mohammed or DeSagna Diop (yikes). Their salaries align.

I ran these trades through ESPN's Trade Machine (which may or not be 100%accurate), and the Reddick deal doesn't work with either Mohammed or Diop because Reddick's base year compensation is too high.

I wouldn't be against the Baron deal. As much as I like Gerald, I think I like the Portland trade the best.

Why would you want Andre Miller and Marcus Camby? Is it 1998 again? I hate the Portland deal.

Have to agree, both are very short term players, you would hope to get what? a year or two out of each? I don't see the need to make a trade just to eek into the playoffs, I would rather get a player that you think would be here 4 or 5 years.

Yeah, don't get me wrong I like both players, but they are just too old. If we could get them without giving up Gerald or Jack I'd be interested, but I'm not interested in giving up Wallace and our young PG for those two.

Paul Silas says they are going to run and play up tempo. That might fit their talent better. They have nothing at center so there is not much worry about a big man getting his in the half court. Maybe they can play Diaw and Thomas at the same time a lot if they run.

I like the skill sets they'd bring to the team. Camby would be the tough inside guy that we need, and trading Diop for him is a win for us by far. Miller is a veteran point guard who actually makes the players around him better, so he's an upgrade over D.J.

I don't love this trade, but given Baron's past couple of seasons(which, granted, were with the Clippers) and his big salary, I'd take Miller and Camby if I had to choose between the two deals. Either one would be ok with me really though.
