Orton is getting tons of junk yardage in Denver's offense, and I think people are getting a little too excited about Gettis and LaFell.

The Panthers have a good stable of running backs, a good linebacking corps, and a decent (but certainly beatable) secondary. Everything else about this team is either bad, or rock-bottom bad. It would have taken more than a veteran quarterback to make this team competitive.

Gross, Wharton and Kalil are still solid. The right side has been weak this year but if we had a solid QB we could overcome that, at least partially. The DL is nothing special but the defense overall has been pretty good.

Put Orton on this team or Jake (pre Tommy John) and we are at least a .500 team.

he played in all 16 games in 09, started in almost 20% of them... all of those were wins

i'd consider that to be a "good chunk"

the way we ended the year, there's no way that I ever anticipated losing Vincent as a bad thing.
It would've helped to have not had two young guys right next to each other (Bernadeau is actually doing OK at left guard, between two vets), but still no excuse. We're running well with Schwartz at RG, but now we're down about 100 lbs at RT.

They're "ok". They're not good enough on a week-to-week basis to be considered good, and yeah, everything right of Kalil tends to suck. The defense hasn't had a good game since SF, against David Carr. They're not very good, either. You can argue all day about the offense putting them in a bad spot, but this defense is easily the softest we've ever....

Jesus Christ, why am I arguing with Thelt at 1am? Fuck this.

This is the first I've read of this. WTF? Was he unpopular in Denver? Was it known that his job was in jeopardy? There has to some continuity.. sheesh!
