this season is a bitter pill. but what do you think the chances that 1-2 years down the road we will be saying how smart our FO office was for paring expenses this year, taking it on the shin and in doing so enabling us to build the next dynasty?

    a rookie franchise QB
    a young, talented team
    lots of room money wise
    a young, bright energetic coach

does the future look bright or bleek to you?

if one of those we currently have, clausen, pike, hell even edwards, end up being qb gold, or if we take such a prospect with that 1st overall in the draft.......

Probably won't be either, but if I had to guess...closer to bleek than bright.

We will be hiring a new coach who may or may not be any good. Fox is a proven commodity so we are taking a pretty big risk. Most coaches fail. Maybe if we are lucky we find the next great coach and QB and go on to do well but I am not very optimistic. I see something like the Lions, Bills and Browns in our future.

    9-23

The unestablished Fox was better than the established one. If we don't win again this year (very possible, and I'm hoping for it really), we're 9-23 over two seasons. And not even competitive in our losses this year, for the most part.

Agree it depends on who comes but I doubt we'll stay this bad.

I like our youth, it's some of the vets we need to replace.

I doubt we'll be swell in 2 years, since they probably won't even play next year. We might be better 5 years down the road IF we find a decent coach. Hope I live that long.

    In that case, bright!

Please, please, please...an end to the non-stop Cowher Gruden Dungy talk.

Much better to hire the next Sean Payton or Raheem Morris.
