    This club needs an entirely new philosophy instead of the patented "play not to lose" and "conservative 3 runs and a punt" or "hang in there with a few breaks one Smitty TD & some field goals" . . . actually those don't even apply anymore and are far better than whatever philosophy (God forbid) they might have right now.

    Hardcore Charlotte fans that I have heard lately are wanting Jerry to handover control to someone with bigger nuts and a win at ANY cost mindset. No more mister loyal straight-laced nice guy. I'm beginning to believe that Fox/Hurney are not the problem at all. It starts and ends with Richardson and I think ever since he came close to croakin he lost the heart to get decisions made that would allow winning seasons in Charlotte. Maybe we need a damn John Gotti style MFer up in hur to start building an entirely different type of team. :evil3:

    All that's true. But he's been good enough to be here 9 years, and he's taken us to the playoffs 3 of those years, NFCCG twice, Superbowl once.

    He's the best coach we've ever had, and I'm gonna miss him. He's not great - like Jake wasn't - but he was our greatest. And I hope the transistion from Fox> new guy goes alot better than the one from Jake> new guy. Otherwise, we could suck for a decade of trying to figure it out.

    3 out 9 years in the playoff sucks...unless you like being grouped in the cleveland, oak, detroit category

    How many teams over the last nine years have made a superbowl appearance, a NFCCG appearance, won their division twice, made the playoffs three times and only posted one season worse than 7-9 (none prior to this year)?

    Sure a few teams have done better but most have done worse.

    Did those teams make the playoffs 3 of 9 years?

    Not saying 3 of 9 is great, but it's not that category of suck, either. My fear is we go there instead of up.

    I also dont advocate keeping fox. Just acknowledging a fact as he goes out the door.
