Until we're all done with what has been a brutal year, I'll keep watchin' and pullin' for my boys. I do like some of the matchups, and for whatever reason, I think this is 28's week. He made plays against them earlier this year, and has typically gashed Dr. Heat.

Brees is hurt, no matter what anyone says. I was convinced watching the Cleveland game again the other night. He's not planting like he used to on his back foot, and the velocity is not there. Hence, the picks inconsistency.

Can't let their scrub backs gash us. It happened in the first game, and had we done a better job on Ivory/Betts, we probably would have won.

Give them some FG's--good bit of wind today. Outdoors, and chilly. Like Kasay over Hartley all day.

Matt: chill the fuck out. You're at home, and you have viable weapons to throw it too (biggest myth in the NFL is our QB's have nobody to throw it to). Plenty of options.

Davidson: get the short passing game going, early on. 3-step, quick outs, slants. Get Moore moving a little too. He likes working outside the pocket.

Special teams: Goodson, let's roll baby. You've looked like a dancer at KR lately. Get your shit together and just run. And just put a PR in the game that will promise you not to fumble, or you can remove his genitals. I don't care if we field 8 fair-catches, just as long as we don't give Brees a bullshit short field from a muffed punt.

Limit the penalties, hold onto the ball, be efficient on both sides, and this game is as winnable as any.

I like us in this game. There is no reason for for my optimism other than its our team and I expect us to win every week.
We are bad though. Don't expect much out of Stewart. Stevie might have a nice game.

it's gonna be an underneath day on offense on 3rd down. I'd use more Gettis than last week, and give Matt two levels - the verticals/posts/etc on the receivers, and then the TE and back underneath. Simplify the reads to those two per side on 3rd down so he can stop fucking that up.

We won't have the ability to actually go deep much, though.

On D, might be a good time to bring it, since the underneath doesn't matter - the TE will get us either way, the backs don't matter, but you can't let guys get deep. So the middle would be open, I know, but I'd as well shake a somewhat winged Brees than give him the deep or let him have all day.

At the least, it might force them to call less deep stuff, which they do all the time.

D has played outstanding, minus the blown control on first play, and having a shit DL.

Moore is not an NFL quarterback. I know some members here want him to be better than Clausen because they think he's cuter, and a sexier man than Clausen or whatever, but that man is not an NFL quarterback. At this point, if for whatever reason we don't want to play Pike? Fucking put anyone in. Moore is fucking trash. He's been in the league long enough.

he should play now, because he should be ready. He just doesn't always look like he is. I figured maybe he turned the corner and was back to decent like against NYG, but no, he's just not efficient.

He's a little gimpy, so maybe we get some change (not that I advocate it, we damn well should stick with something for three whole games).

But I mean, seriously, with three men overloaded strongside, you have to assume one or two is coming and that you've gotta fucking get the ball out.

    No doubt.

WHat gets me is when the pocket is under control, he still bails. That, and he doesn't get rid of the ball well.

I don't believe I just saw the Panthers run a fake punt. That is unbelievable. I also think it only would serve the higher ups right to have everything fall apart as far as injuries and everything. That was an awful PI call on Steve Smith as well. They might as well just call the game and go home. This is awful by the refs as well as for the Panthers.

    ugly.
oh well, still beats soccer and baseball. Wish my team didn't make it so hard to be a fan sometimes.
