Jon Gruden or Brian Billick are the two best offensive minded HC 'available' who have HC experience. I'd be happy with either one, but prolly won't happen.

Gruden has some pretty bad years, yes. No excuse really.

Sometimes, your franchise, at a certain point, just needs a certain guy. I don't think Gru is "overrated"--I think he does work as hard as anyone, and is as demanding on the offensive side as any coach you'll find. He would bring the WCO back, but he loves to, as he said it, "pound that rock". Our personnel (at it's best) fits what he wants like a glove.

I don't think you can overlook the local knowledge factor. Bringing in a guy with a certain comfort level and passion for this division, and it's rivalries, would be a plus.

He's as good a candidate as anyone for the personality and schematics needed.

i think he's probably one of the best motivators in the league. and certainly knows football and the division. i don't know that i would rate him that highly though as a teacher/coach. he got a great situation when he started at tampa...and it's a real mystery why he wasn't able to replace departing talents like brad johnson. or keenan mccardell.

dumping gruden certainly may have had something to do with money, since it is the glazers and the conspiracy is that manchester united is their darling, despite the monsterous debt it created. he didn't help himself though with the parade of washed up raiders, the dogshit years, the dopey drafts, and generally failing to deliver on the offensive side.

certainly, all the coaches have their tools. The offense is shitting the bed. I stand behind my thoughts that it's execution, not that the playcalls aren't cute enough. I agree that 1st and 10 is a good place for a pass call, but with what we play like right now, that becomes 1st and 20 quickly.

he definitely fits. But, $. And do you trust him with your QBs? Guy had some fairly solid ones, and tossed them quickly. He may have found a way to play Moore, Clausen, Cantwell, Pike, and Edwards by now as starters.

You could fit him in, and keep the D. Not like Gruden doesn't like Tampa 2.

Yeah I'd say the guy that would get me most excited would be John Gruden.... We'll see if JR is willing to fork out the dough to bring him here, judging from the past excluding this year I would say he IS willing to do so...

"It's not on the quarterback," the insider told PFW. "You could throw Joe Montana in the lineup, and he would be struggling, with the way they are coaching."

It is execution, but the failure on the part of our coaching staff to adjust to our youth and coach fundamental football (which, unfortunately we are in a position to have to do on an NFL level) is our biggest failing. The types of mistakes we are making are products of a lack of disciplined coaching. Fox is good at coaching veterans who he doesn't need to motivate, but he sucks at adjusting to the experience level of his team.
What young project has Fox ever turned into a great veteran?

I'm not sure what you mean by project. Not many teams routinely turn scrub rookies into all stars.

Fox is a good coach. This is a horrible football team, specifically on offense. We have bad football players at key positions. I don't think it gets any more complicated than that. The youth card doesn't really work because Philadelphia is only about a year older on average, and they're a 4-2 team.

yeah. We've got plenty of 6th round guys this year that are contributing right now. We've gotten plenty out of guys who weren't supposed future Pro Bowlers. That's not the issue.

We're far too young at the two places you can't stay young at. And, the offense has no confidence. It's not like the defense is playing badly, or special teams is playing badly. This team isn't loafing, either. The offense is terrible, there's nothing more than that.
