I haven't seen anything this year to suggest Fiammetta is beyond hope. He needs to get there a half second faster.

I'm not against this move. It would've been viable to move Wharton to T, but he had his issues out there, too. If we had done that week 1 I'd have loved it.

Not signing Vincent may have hurt them the most. And I'm wondering if Otah is just lazy or doesn't want to risk it for this years team.

Fiametta has done nothing to impress me. Heck Sutton did better as a FB in that one game last year.

Vincent was a smart decision, given that we anticipated having 3 young bodies, two of which finished better than he did. It's no different than the LB situation, really. We just weathered a last minute loss of Otah worse than we did TD.

you could also argue that we finished 09 with vets next to youth, which I could see helping. We still don't have that, nor leadership, and those do hurt. Not having two young people on one end would be preferable, sure, now that I think about it.
But if you keep Vincent, and keep 3 guys on the bench that could help you, you're failing what we have done well with on D.

Vincent would have been fairly cheap to keep. Why not do so. If one of the younger guys can beat him out then great. If not then you have a base level of performance that you can depend on. I suspect they would have kept him had they known how bad Otah was hurt.

I've never heard of a starting RT under 300 lbs.

Might as well give it a shot. It's going to look like the sequel to Twins with those two guys lined up beside eachother.

I'm sure Shanahan and his love of small OLs had it happen sometime in Denver

I really don't think keeping vincent even comes up if DUKE STEEL OF TEH DRAFTED HUTCHINSON stays healthy.

I agree with Thelt, regardless of Otah's injury. I'd much rather have Vincent on the depth chart than Chris Morris.

yeah, a lot had to happen for us to not have depth. I can't say that we wouldn't be better with Vincent, but it'd have been worth the idea of getting some youth on the field instead. It's no different than what we did at CB, S, LB in the last few years, and those worked out fine. I don't think anyone could've thought Vincent was better than the two we were using at the end of last year, and so under the assumption one of three good players could fill the one role we thought we had, we're paying a backup that may or may not dress $800k for the ability to maybe or maybe not dress.

It's a good gamble. I'd ten to one rather have Moose, our old, slow, hated on reliable 50 reception a year #2.
