Sentiment, I suppose. Taking a 1-15 team and putting them in the Super Bowl 24 months later. Winning four road playoff games between 2003-2005.

I probably loved having him here more for what he did in his "first term" than in the second.

Well, you see, when you're banking $6.5 mil, and you're already chatting with other owners about your new gig, and you stop giving a shit about the little things, it doesn't count.

I believe John Fox runs a clean ship. I also (maybe unfairly to others) am guilty of possibly giving him too much credit for our early successes. Since about 05, we'd win one year, then lose the next,,, but you always had hope things would turn around. Yet here we are in 2010 and things seem to have hit rock bottom. I believe his being stubborn is his biggest negative. I believe he is a good person, but I'm sorry to admit I have been ready for him to go sometime now.

You can fairly evaluate John Fox on his total resume while here, not just this season, and decide to let him go. I'd tie him to Marty, personally, as I see the biggest failing as being one of personnel. He's had one good season in the past 5, with many of the same problems on offense (lack of secondary recievers, QB play, line play).

That said, this season losing was absolutely, positively, set in stone during the offseason. There's no winning with this amount of youth, with young QBs and recievers. It would not matter who the coach is, which is why Fox is still here.

Fox is trying IMO, and may have bought in with some hope of being at least competive and get better through the year, like many on here did. But I don't think that was a realistic hope.

The Patriots are going through a youth movement, yes, but not to our degree. They have a HOF QB. Two proven vets at WR. A veteran offensive line. Their "inexperience," as far as starters are concerned, is at TE and CB. Not exactly a bunch of rookies really. Kraft spent money for mid level vets like Wright and Branch. Its a completely different situation.

This gets the win. I wish I could add more, but I'm swamped at work. But this...this is a good post.
