Yes. Its Fox who is doing that. Not Hurney and Richardson, looking to cut payroll and get us some kid that the locals like on the cheap.

Fox won't be unemployed long as a coach. But nobody could win with this lineup. This was a no win situation. He's only here because Jerry didn't want to pay another coach plus Fox's salary.

Best thing about this year is we still have a 1st round pick next year. Hopefully they have a rookie cap is so a top 5 won't be as expensive

you know, and I hear the fan community as a whole being enamored with AJ Green, and you know, one thing I look at with the Panthers passing game is that the wide receivers aren't young enough yet.

if you could sell him on keeping the staff that would stay (which wouldn't include Skipper, which would blow), he'd probably stay. I like the offense.

but it's awkward, because while he gets Davidson (even I'm lurching a little at that thought) and you get someone he trusts to administrate while he calls plays, he's essentially chasing the team of one of his best friends. I mean, for the most part, Weis has helped call some shots the last few years for this franchise already.

Wasn't it Weiss's high praise that got Davidson the job? And I still don't see the whole Cowher thing because we've not drafted thinking 3-4.

and Henning, honestly. Henning was Weis' QB coach in NY, but didn't go with Weis to NE (oops, though Dick Rehbein died), and then was out of football for a year (just like after us).

I think the rumor was that Weis was open to leaving (he had not signed a new deal, possibly hoping to get with Parcells, as others had), and wanted to work with Fox, but Fox was making low money and they couldn't pay Weis more than Fox. Which makes sense.

If Cowher would go with a base offense, I'm OK with him. He's overhyped and gets a lot of credit for a complex D that 1) he didn't have to coach, 2) he didn't design, and 3) he didn't draft the immense talent that made it work, but at the end of the day offensively and defensively he fits save for a 3-4 scheme he can't fit to our guys. I mean, at best you have Norwood and Everette Brown, and Brown really should be at end.

He might not run a 3-4 here. As you say that was mostly a Dick Lebeau creation. Cowher's strength is motivating his players. You can do that regardless of system.

I would be happy to keep Fox but if that does not happen I would be happy with Cowher. He is not very different from Fox in philosphy, just more passhun!
