I wonder if we could say say Delhomme, Jake. Played pretty well in 2008 except for playoff meltdown. Then coached by Rip Scherer. BTW, I watched the game at a sports bar a couple rows of chairs back from Rip's parents.

I watched the game from seat 22, which was Rip Torn's father's peewee league jersey number in 1912. What a coincidence.

The names and faces are different, but we can read this same story (or some slight variation of it) over the whole of Fox's career here.

    Not me.

Looking back, I think Clausen could have handled things much better the last 2 games, and given us a chance.

However, even with Clausen, beating cincy seems unlikely.

after watching the game from behind the Panthers bench yesterday, it became obvious to me that Moore just does not have it. He knew who he was going to throw to before he broke huddle. No discussion with the O-line.

On the interception play he was locked on one receiver while Gettis (1'0" taller than whoever was covering him) was streaking wide open down field.

I thought it was pretty funny that every time Moore sat on the bench Clausen was literally standing behind him looking over his shoulder.

Man, that stadium was 30 - 40 % empty. It will be 70% empty next weekend.

Nah....there will be more people there next weekend. They'll want to see Clausen start, TO and Ocho-stinko.

Anyone who watched Anderson when he went to the pro bowl in 2007 saw that he wasn't anything special and was bound to fail. I don't think anyone could see Moore doing this badly after the end of last season.

The second half of Jake's 2008 was actually pretty bad (remember the Oakland game?) the playoff game is just the most memorable part.

It seems like ever since Rip Scherer got here we have struggled greatly at the QB position. Moore looked solid when he came in mid season but given an offseason and training camp to work with Scherer he now stinks just like Jake did.

Scherer was with Cleveland from 05-08 an aside from one good year for Anderson he has not really had an NFL QB who did well.

We need to fire him now if Clausen is going to have any chance. Maybe Clausen will be arrogant enough to just ignore his coach?
