I have no problem with what he said. It isn't anything that hasn't been said already by everyone else. I think they need someone to call them out and make them accountable. We spent some high round picks on the receivers and they need to show they were worth it on the field.

yup, and he also just has a sorta twisted sense of humor . .. my bet is he's mostly just busting balls in an attempt at a little levity

He's basically just calling them to task for not producing on the field. I am sure he's grown tired of trying to help Jarrett day in and day out with little to no results. It sounded like to me he wants them to come to help for help, but they need to try and do what he says, because their way isn't working. Steve Smith is the man. If Pepper's had half his heart we would have won the supper bowl, probably more than once.

Steve Smith is not a leader, and if the wide receivers we have need him to be their leader, then we've got trouble.

he'll take a few guys under his wing, and apparently Guy is one.
But, for one it's hard to be a leader when you're not on the field because you did something stupid, and two, it's a shame he couldn't have something for Armanti, a guy who desperately needs help from everyone possible.

I think they pay Tyke Tolbert a fairly decent salary, along with Davidson, to oversee the development and progression of our receivers--Smith included.

Smith is not paid a dime to be a teacher. If he so chooses, it's a bonus. As it is, per market value, he's probably underpaid. I would ask a few things from Smith:

    1. Don't drop so many balls.
    2. Don't punch people.
    3. Don't get ejected from a game.

Other than that, just get the fucking ball in his hands, and everyone else will be wide ass open.

I see the point, but Armanti's a big boy. LaFell is a bigger boy. Both of them can do this without being babied by a teammate.

    Just sayin'

Smith has been helping a lot if anyone actually read the article instead just the quote... and I saw him talking to Armanti too on the sidelines when he couldn't field a punt.
