If Fox is out, do we promote within? Meeks has done a good job with the defense. Is it possible he's the next in line?

What's the point of a coach during a lockout?

people expecting a big name would be disappointed. Maybe Dungy, but only because he's coveted. Chances are, he's done all his coaching. Otherwise, likely from within, or an outside name that would work with these guys.

OTOH, hell, our assistants aren't under contract either, so it's tough to say.

From inside, sure, Meeks is the most likely up, and either Baker or Smith promoted behind.

fantastic candidate who'd loyally follow Fox, my guess.

if anybody's job is in jeopordy, it's Davidson's... I think Jim Skipper should get promoted to OC and Davidson can pack his bags.

I think Fox stays... just waiting to see if there's even going to be football in '11.

Maybe when John Fox is coaching the Panthers in 2011, under a new labor agreement, with a plush, 6-year deal and that mansion on #13 at Quail Hollow, we can discuss some names like:

    1. Kirk Ferenz
    2. Bill Cowher
    3. Bill Cowher's Daughters---any of them will do.
    4. Chuck Amato, with Bill Cowher
    5. Lindy Infante

Lot of talk about how JR won't pay elite coaching money and that's why fox didn't get extension.

This doesn't seem valid to me. Fox got paid elite $$ on his last extension, seifert got elite money, too.
