    Fuckin with me.

Dexter jackson is on our roster, a project 2nd round pick by Tampa who hoped his speed could make him like smitty. He went to ASU. He sucked, and won't make a roster and Tampa's whole franchise came unglued after that. Armanti Edwards.

The puff piece on matt moore last night. The last preseason puff piece on a qb was on weinke in 2002. Rodney Peete.

    And Danny Crossman was smug.

    EDWARDS????????????

I already forget . .. did the panthers trade any picks from this past draft or was it "just" next years 2nd (likely a top 40s pick)? Ether way it's looking like a complete waste. There was already a guy (or two) on the roster who is a better option as RS and why the HUGE gamble to try and develop him at WR? I'm thinking sheer desperation. Last night it was clear that Edwards is inferior to Jackson and could easily still be inferior to him a few years from now. Why the fuck do you piss away next years 2nd rd when you already have a slightly better (more developed) version of that guy? Fuckin Getto Christy Brown Lawn Mower Boy is looking like your average UFA to me. I'm really curios as to where Edwards would have naturally been picked had some Carolina FO moron not had a screaming boner for the kid.

Yeah he pretty much seems to be a Taye Biddle wannabe. I guess they couldn't stand not trading something away.

I can't give up on Edwards yet, and I think we should throw him back out for punt return duty the next 2 preseason games. Worst case Munnerlyn does it week one.

    It was discouraging.

That said - other draft picks (although not corvey Irvin ) made some great plays on defense. Our pass rush seems better, which is great.

After a coupla days I think Clausen's pick on the 2 minute drill irritates me more than the special teams blunders. The special teams blunders seem easier to fix.

not wanting to give up on Edwards yet either... he is a rookie playing positions he didn't even play in college... helluva learning curve... but keeping him in is taking practice reps away from someone who can do the job better

but bad juju is a reaching even for you meat

I'm wondering if the Old Man himself didn't have something to do with this. Locally Edwards has got a huge fan following. Other than Claussen which rookie jerseys are the Panthers pimping out? JR is a very savy businessman. He knew after all the cuts it would be hard to sell tickets. I got lower level tickets a week ago for the Bengals game and there were alot of tickets left for the Buc's. Edwards will bring in the App State fans to cheer him and the WCU fans to cheer when he fails. I do believe he makes the roster probably at the expense of a better player. But with both the Richardson sons gone I'm thinking JR is finacially stablizing the team to put it up for sale.

It was a rookie mistake. All in all, Clausen has done about what we should expect.

This is what I'm starting to think, too, particularly with the loss of Hoover.
