Exactly. They didn't move up in the draft to put him on the PS, so another team can take him.

Since we traded up to get him, Edwards better make the team

Edwards would have to be a major bust not to make the team. I do not see that happening.

I don't think anyone saw his as a major contributor this year. On the other hand, he does have the ability to contribute from multiple positions. If he even develops into a no3. WR this year, we'll be OK.

I don't think he'll take as long to develop as Jarrett.

Edwards will have to find some niche on special teams. So far, I've heard nothing but bad things about him as a returner, and Wright is a better receiver and gunner, so it's going to be tough for him. Fox is not the kind of coach to use a roster spot on a gadget player.

So far, it sounds like he's inept at every position. He's a project. He seems like a great guy, but it's embarrassing that we actually traded up for this.

well it wouldn't be the first time they've jettisoned a higher pick. i think ellison was third round as well.

then again, they've put up with jarrett's foolery at the position for a few seasons now. i imagine he makes the cut, but maybe we don't see much of him on sundays. if he goes practice squad, some team will take a low-risk chance on him just to see.

We kept one guy just to do kickoffs. That means we used him for one play and anytime we scored. So basically two plays a game last year.

having him on inactive for a while won't be the worst for him, and it's best for us if he's not forced on for need while he tries to learn.

I didn't like the pick until they posed him as the ideal slot (and we already had our big guy). If he doesn't play this year, or the first half of the year, it's not damning, but disappointing. He's a football player, and we have a couple QBs to groom, so I won't have to hear nitwit AppState fans demanding he be our QB.

Past that if LaFell can contribute, Moore looks like he can be a slot at least, and Jarrett bothers to show up this year's need isn't huge. Having Wright be involved would be a big plus, too. As long as we don't suck terribly bad there, and then he's good next year, that's important.
