    Carrying pads is not really what I consider to be hazing, especially since you can apparently refuse it.

    if that's the tradition it seems like you would want to do it out of respect, and out of thanks for the help they'll be giving you. and it looks funny.
    i agree. that's not hazing.

    the injury might put him behind for his rookie year, and that's not the biggest deal in that they don't "need" him right away. They have two good receivers, and Roy Williams.

    Neither would I. It's a sign of respect. That being said, I can understand why he wouldn't want to carry Roy Williams' pads. Just about anyone else, fine.

    Being taped to a goal post, etc., is another story.
