Meeks defenses have always struggled stopping the run. I guess time will tell if dumping all the vets was the right move. It is just hard for me to see all the changes we made on D making us better.

Why is Thomas Davis on the PuP list instead of IR?

I have to say that I am with HeadCase in his assessment of the defense. I'm not so sure about being in the top 10, but I think that they're going to be pretty good...certainly not a liability like some folks think.

I don't put much stock into what the 'experts' report on us. The majority of them have no real clue as to our team - their predictions usually seem like they get their info from glancing over the news wire.

My main concern is that Moore keeps going in a positive direction and that our ST start being a strength again.

Because if he goes IR he's out for the year. On the Pup he can go to like week 8 (can't remember the exact week) of the season and be evaluated to see if he can return.

eh. we had 4 very capable starters on that line, peppers, jenkins, rucker and buckner, and some decent depth behind it. it was good enough to shield a secondary that was called suspect before and during that season. and rightfully so since it featured players like cousins and the mugging midget.

just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

No, a good D-Line specifically a good RE and UT is extremely important to the Meeks/Tampa-2 Defense.

didn't say they weren't important. every position is important. but i don't know that they are the backbone of his d as they are many defenses.

The front four makes it work.

We don't run this every down, but it was a pretty common passing down defense we used last year. If your front can't get any pressure, the zones keep stretching and QB's find open receivers. I doubt we're going to rely on this as much in 2010.
