I am not worried out Smith missing preseason for his own benefit but I do think it hurts our QBs not having him to work with. When he is healthy will it take him a while to get in sync with the QB?

I think Moore is pretty familiar with him.

Yes but he has not played with him all that much. When the play breaks down sometimes a big play will happen if the QB and WR are on the same page. Smitty knew that he would get some wild erratic passes from Jake so he was ready for it.....

I watched part of our playoff game against the Rams last night on NFLN. Jake threw a smoke screen to Smith and Smith had to leap about ten feet in the air to make a one handed catch. He still gained about seven yards on the play. Too bad that does not work any more even with a well thrown ball.

The silver lining is this does give the team a better chance to sort out the other wide receivers in training camp.

There wasn't anything special Jake did other than throwing it up and letting Smith go get it. I think Moore could do that. Hell, I think I could do that! It was Smith that made miraculous catches and made the play look better than it was. IMO, much of Jake's play last year was not much different from the year before, its just the the ball wasn't bouncing in his favor as much.

The smoke pass was overplayed, that is why it didn't work as well.

Dude in my office was the QB for the flag football team that threw the pass. Turns out he is a Panthers hater and a die-hard Eagles fan. Conspiracy??
