Lawrence Taylor Arrested in New York Rape Investigation

Former New York Giants star Lawrence Taylor has been arrested in conjunction with a rape investigation in suburban New York, according to local authorities.

LoHud.com reported that the alleged victim in the case is a 15-year-old girl who is a runaway from New York. According to LoHud.com, Taylor is being charged with third-degree rape, which is essentially the state's statutory rape charge. However, Ramapo (N.Y.) police detective Lt. Brad Weidel told the Associated Press that Taylor had not been formally charged.

The Town of Ramapo Police Department website says it is "currently investigating a reported rape that occurred 5/6/10 in the early am hours at the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, N.Y. Currently under arrest is Lawrence J. Taylor DOB 2/4/59 of Pembroke Pines, FLA. Formal charges will be filed upon the completion of our investigation."

A news conference is planned for Thursday afternoon at which authorities say additional information will be released.

Taylor, 51, played 13 NFL seasons, all for the Giants, from 1981 to 1993. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999. Since his retirement, he has has been jailed three times on drug possession charges.

last i read, he had his shit together, off drugs, and gambled playing golf in south florida 8 days a week

If convicted looking at 4 years on the third degree rape charge. Not to condone him for the rape charge or trying to judge him morally but unless she was screaming I'm only 16 isn't he more guilty of adultery. I mean he wasn't the one who beat this girl up, whored her out (she gave the 300 dollars to her pimp, the other guy arrested) He is guilty of stupidity and adultery. I have been on the road all day and half asleep but was the other guy in the room while Taylor had sex with her? Couldn't she have said "hey guy I am a 16 year old runaway and that guy who brought me beat the shit out of me, can you help me out?" If she did and he still did whats being reported then Taylor is in for a fun time in prison.
