I think the veteran leadership is going to come from players already on the team... don't see huge holes to fill anymore

Would like Moose here though with this much young WR talent

I hope they do. I'd rather they have kept a few of the ones they had.

I think they want the vets for depth, and the ones they had were starters.

It's easy to judge that by saying the young guys were handed a job - and they might have been. However, benching vets doesn't help chemistry. Releasing vets and signing new ones to be backups could alleviate that.

Just rambling. who fucking knows. we got a team of babies, i know that much.

Would like Moose back as a teacher, not to take playing time away from the young guys... but you want the young guys to feel like its on them as men, and not keep a bunch of vets around to babysit these guys...

Coaching staff is going to have fun, all the old pep talks and speeches are again brand new

Think we have the youngest team in the league?

I think we are young rebuild mode, without a full reboot- keeping younger vet core that they believe in.

It's not a bad thing for the future, sure. But we may also have some growing pains.

The thing I'm most worries about is depth on the lines, safety and at WR. Any injuries to our starters there, assuming they will be decent to good when healthy, and we catch the suck real quick.

I'm confident in starting O line, RBs (starters and depth), LBs (starters and depth), starting TEs, DEs, CBs and S (depth of those 4 in question except TE).

QB? Who the fuck knows. DT, starters are a question and no fucking depth.

This year may be decent if we stay healthy. But in the end, we could also suck as a sign of rebuilding.

I will note, as usual, our staff has left a glaring shitstain at a position this year, and that would be DT. They seem to always have at least one position that they seem to ignor and fill with lesser talent and it bites us in the ass.

I'm not too worried at FB, if they can coach it up, use HBacks (TEs) or change the O to not rely on a FB like we have (and we can, but will they, or will that bite us too...?)

Actually I'm not as concerned about DT as much as some people are. Before getting hurt Leonard and Tyler both showed a TON of potential. Ed Johnson might have sucked recently, but he thrived in Meeks' scheme and is returning to that. I personally was a big fan of Corey Irvin's potential. I thought he was still a year from where he should be when the Panthers drafted him. He's a guy i expected needing grooming, and now he's had a full year of it. Nick Hayden is a turd. I could see adding another vet to fill out a little depth but in general that gives at least a decent 2 deep, and with Johnson and Brayton occasionally moving in on pass rushing downs, I don't consider it a huge issue.

a bit harsh. he lost weight before last season to get ready for Meeks. he showed a lot of motor but not big enough to hold the point at DT in the running game. may not be the greatest but don't think he is a turd. if he can gain weight/muscle he'll be decent.

The only concern I have is whether we can stop the run with our DTs and lack of a strong safety now that Harris is gone. None of our DTs are very big. Meeks defense has struggled against the run in the past so it is a valid concern.

it's not like we'll have 10 on the field, our safety's looked really good finishing up the season

we struggled at stopping the run due to injuries at DT, and Meeks scheme will look better this year and I think the personel this year better suits his defense
