Do you think there will be a lock out in 2011? Or is it just posturing. I see one reason there will not be a lock out. Greed, both owners and players. The situation has gotten out of hand with all the money given to half-assed players who don't perform. On the other hand $5.00 for a Milky Way and around $7.00 a beer is ridiculous. $400.00 for one afternoon of entermainment for my wife, child and me is a chunk of change. These guys risk losing the fan support and while the Panther PSL owners will be forced to buy tickets most of the stadiums don't have the luxury of holding a considerable investment over season ticket holders head. There will be plenty of jawing back and forth but unless these guys are complete idiots, we'll have the NFL in 2011. I think both sides have seen what happened to hockey, abd the NBA.

A lock-out is not going to affect your bottom line as a fan.

If they leave, when they come back you will still pay $5 for a snickers, $7 for a beer, and $400 for an afternoon.

$400 is a lot of money to us, but when you consider the salaries of the players you realize how little your contribution actually pays. Their money comes from the TV contract, when the TV contract goes down their pay will go down, that's what this lock-out is about.

It's not about filling stadiums with cheap tickets.

There won't be any lockout. I've read lots of sports blogs about it, and I don't think there will be one. The NFL is not that stupid. The Saints/Colts Super Bowl was great for the NFL. A lockout will only create ill will toward the league - not gonna happen, IMO.

Count on it. Everything I've heard says it's inevitable. The cuts of aging players and inactivity around the league are not a coincidence.

I think there will be. No matter how much money they get each side wants a bigger share of the pie. And right now neither side appears to be willing to compromise. One question I have is with the salary cap gone will the players ever accept another one... if I was a player I'd never agree to another cap.

There's definitely going to be a lockout in 2011, and call me a pessimist but I worry it might carry over into 2012.

I think there will be too. As far as the cap goes I doubt the owners would ever agree to not having one. I just wonder if the owners will try to have a scab, I mean replacement, season?
