Another shot of the case. You can see how the corner posts give it strength and support.

Here's a shot of the interior structure I designed and installed. The bottom panel is 1/2" oak. That's probably overkill, but better safe than sorry. The last thing I wanted was for this to look cheap.

The first of two close-ups of the face. You can really see the nice grain pattern of the cherry wood.

Looking good HB. It also looks big. Does she have that much jewelry or are you going to have to spend the rest of your life filling it up? :biggrina:

Another close-up of the front. The grain really stands out, and you can see how I beveled the corners of the post.

Progress has been made! I finally got the drawers to a point where I can actually put them in the case. Wow, what a concept!

After totally blowing it on the cherry wood drawers I originally planned, I decided to go with maple for a contrasting look. I think it's going to look pretty good.

The new drawers are even nice and flush with the front of the case, so at least I got the measurements right.

With those six drawers and the full length tray on the top, I'm hoping that will be enough storage for all Leslie's sparklies.

    For now...

Third time's a charm! After three attempts at making drawers for this project, I've finally come up with a result I like. Here they are, installed in the case with the drawer fronts and fleur-de-lis pulls attached.
