that's the weird thing. Shipley gets singled out for finishing 10th on an arbitrary listing.

I wouldn't complain if we got Shipley with our pick in the 2nd.

He's not on the list, but a guy I like who would fit nicely here, more so than Shipley, is Taylor Price. The WR from Ohio who has done well so far in the offseason.

I didn't even look at Meat's list. I just threw that in there because I've been watching combine coverage.

    fair enough.

Shipley is interesting. I just don't think that given our want for a slot player - without a starting compliment as of now - he fits. He had a disappointing combine and ran a 4.6. That's fine for a slot guy. But we have slow guys already.

True dat. But the difference is, the analysts on Sirius say two things about Shipley that our guys (aside from Smitty) aren't -- he's smart, and he's a football player who makes plays.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm not saying he's The Answer. I just think he's better than most of what we've got on the roster, his skill set fits our scheme, and he's got the right mentality for the team. WRs are definitely not my primary interest, let alone what I would call a specialty, so I could be WAY off. Just my :twocents:...

I just don't see the panters FO getting a hard on for the next great white hope at WR, much to about 65% of Carolina fans dismay. As far as I can tell he isn't a top 10 wide out in this draft. Unless he was the best available with their pick in the 3rd and they haven't picked a WR yet no way he's coming here. I say they will go for a deep threat or at least a solid #2 type to pair with Smith, not a slot guy

He's a football player who made plays in college. That could be said about a few players including at least one current Panthers receiver.
