yup, You'd think they would want to keep at least a couple of vet leader types (especially at positions of need) and I would feel a lot better about this season if Moose and Brayton were retained

Looking at who is left out there at WR I'd sign Moose for a year and and option for another. If you decide not to bring him back for the second year as a player, I'd retain him as an assistant to the new WR coach so you'd have some one to teach the younger guys how to block downfield.

Isn't this an uncapped year? Meaning...we have unlimited cap space for 2010.

I imagine they are trying to keep the money around what last years cap was with a reasonable increase. Or going cheap so they can come in and sign players next year when there is hopefully a cap

I suppose the draft is now what. I for one hope they draft a receiver early and that guy turns out to be good. Moore needs another reliable guy besides Smith.

There's no telling what a new CBA would mean for the next cap, so the Panthers, like most teams, are avoiding taking advantage of the uncapped season. There are a few teams who have made big moves, overspending on aging players, but what we're doing right now is pretty much in line with what everyone else is doing.

I have no problem with it. I'm royally pissed that we didn't lock up Peppers earlier in his career, but I'm not even that upset about letting him walk now.
