Moore is a differnt QB than Jake

Jake would try and force passes when he felt pressure .

Moore will throw his share of ints as any q b will
but i have not yet seen the {deer lost in headlights look} on Moore

    Jake had this look often

All Moore needs to do is run the run first offense and keep his ints down .

Yep. And without constant turnovers and ability to throw when needed, our defense will play better b/c they'll be on the bench.

I forgot about DT Ed Johnson. Not that he's worth a shit, but he's a Meeks guy ( brayton and d-lew were apparently not ) and he's a pickup.

We need a consistent target across from Smitty. Is that bringing Moose back or are we gonna give it to Jarrett? Last time we gave the wr spot to a youngster it was Colbert and that didn't work out well. It goes completely against what we've done so far this offseason but T.O. would be an ideal fit there. He won't ever come here because he's insane and histrionic but he'd be cheap and effective. Probably would hurt us off the field though.
I like our TE's. I don't think we need to add anything there. We have a good rotation and if Rosario could just be consistent he'd be a great playmaker for us. Barndige has showed some promise so we'll see. King is solid. I'm more worried about our secondary depth and D-line depth. If Marshall or Gamble go down we are stuck with Munnerlyn starting? Ouch.

CJ Wilson showed promise, and MArtin was drafted as a CB but played better at safety. We're same there as last year.

I agree that he wasn't the only reason. Whether it was players figuring out the system or Meeks tweaking it to fit his players once he learned how they played facing live ammo, the D improved as the result of the improvement in play of several players. I think I read an article somewhere about how Meeks changed up the system in mid-year. Whatever happened there was a lot of improvement. Gamble played much better in the 2nd half, along with others. But, Peppers became dominant and made a lot of huge plays ... after being a prime culprit for sinking the season early on. He was a very big part of the reason the D improved.

Like I said, I could be wrong. Been before, and I'm no expert. I remember that a knock on Beason in the draft was his timed speed. But the Panthers drafted him anyway because he was all over the field. He more than makes up for timed speed with anticipation and reaction. Connor has good savy, just doesn't seem to be as quick or agile. He wasn't thrown in at OLB when Davis went down and the guys that were thrown were pretty sucky, so I'm guessing that he not that great at OLB. Anderson made some plays in preseason but as I watched him he looked to have poor instincts, anticipation and reaction (or some combination thereof), which is why I don't think he'll ever be better than a fill-in.

kinda of a dicey situation. you want to give Moore confidence that he's the man and the team to know who the QB is. He's going to have some bad games (hopefully just a small handful) and you don't want the team and fans crying for the backup everytime he does have one. On the other hand, if he bombs, you'd like to have a good backup plan. damn if you do and damn if you don't.

I thought the Captain started a few times and handled himself pretty well for a rook. No? He's probably not going to grow vertically and that's always going to be his handicap. Otherwise, he's a pretty special player.

They're all replaceable parts, so that's not a big deal.

Losing Peppers is a legitimately huge problem, though, and anyone who tries to play that off is being a homer.
