I don't see why Jake could not go back-up Drew Bress in New Orleans... the back up now is Mark Brunell

at least then he'd have a shot at getting the ring Kasay fucked him out of

C'mon man - if it hadn't been for Kasay, we probably never would have even made the playoffs. EVER. Blaming him for the Super Bowl loss is crazy. Our defense could have stopped them, and didn't. If I had to go back and bet on it, even if the Patriots would have got the ball at the 20 instead of the 40, I'm pretty sure they still would have gotten in FG range.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing. Remember that the Patriots had a 10 yard penalty on that last drive and had to make that up. Also, the FG was from 41 yards and easily would have been good from 50. Plus, the game was TIED. If the game goes into OT, we had at best a 50/50 shot to win the game.

No one calls out Steussie for giving up the sack/fumble to Vrabel on our own 20. No one calls out our safeties for letting Branch get behind them for a 50 yard play towards the end of the first half. Those two (and others) were as much a part of the loss as Kasay kicking the ball out of bounds.

Updating a previous report, Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports unrestricted free-agent QB Jake Delhomme (Panthers) will visit with the Cleveland Browns Thursday, March 11, in hopes of signing a contract, according to a source.

Report: Delhomme to visit Saints next
According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, former Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme is scheduled to visit the New Orleans Saints Friday and Saturday after today's visit with the Cleveland Browns.

Delhomme, a native of Breaux Bridge, La., began his NFL career with the Saints before coming to Carolina. If he returns, it'll be as the backup to Drew Brees.

Keep an eye on Denver, though. Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is the Panthers' former quarterbacks coach who is very close to Delhomme. In Denver, Delhomme might provide viable competition for the starting job with Kyle Orton. The backup, for now, is Chris Simms.

Jake would have trouble providing 'viable competition' with JP Losman at this point.

Be nice to see him back in New Orleans with a clipboard in his hands. Maybe they can bring back Aaron Brooks as well :couch:
