With those stats, AFCE is still the best, but it swaps AFCN and NFCS.

yeah, it is. it's the only division that has each team making the playoffs at least three times in the past decade.

You also have to consider that the Falcons and Panthers were both awful during the two years prior to the re-alignment. Both teams have had multiple playoff appearances since '02.

I don't think it's the best division, but it's pretty remarkable that all four teams have either been to or won a SB since 1998.

that's just becuase every year there's a new top team and previous top team going to shit....as referenced by the overall win loss %

I don't see how that trumps other conferences who have one team making it twice and every other team making it at least 3+

But the top teams end up doing damage in the playoffs. So I don't think it's just a fluke. I do think the AFCS and AFCN are clearly better in terms of overall quality. The AFCE is just a one man show. Same with the NFCE, to an extent.

I suppose the topic was about success in the playoffs, but I was pushing it more towards overall success. How many times has the NFCS had multiple teams make it compared to others?

This year seems like it was the 1st time in a long time. Most of the time you only had 1 team from NFC North and West and then 2 teams at least making it from the NFC East & South

AFCE has had three different teams in the playoffs. While yes, the Patriots have dominated the conference, they have also dominated the NFL. They played in almost half the superbowls over the last 10 years, ridiculous.

Also, you have to remember that the rest of the AFCE has to play the Patriots twice every year which is a tough scheduling break for them. For the most part, it puts those 3 teams 2 games back in the wild card race before the season even begins.
