Another idiotic low for a sportswriter. They want a rule to tell coaches when they have to play players and now want to complain about play calling. Sounds to me like they just want to be coaches.

    It was football, not pool.

There is really no such thing as a 'trick play'. All plays are potentially 'tricky', from playaction pass plays to shuffle passes, from draws to screens, from disguised zone blitzes to the 'Music City Miracle' play, from fake punts to fake FGs.

Hell, the whole thing about plays most times is to catch the other team off guard or out of position, that's why Payton Manning most times audibles and has two different plays called in each huddle. Players and coaches have o be ready for anything and everything. If the point is to be totally 'fair', mano e mano, then why not let the O and D tell eacher other their plays before running them.

The writer above is a sore loser doofus. His opinion is bullshite.

Based on his statements, the Panthers should have been allowed to rekick in the SB when Kasey kicked it OB, that is, to make the Pats have an expected challenging drive to win the game at the end.

As long as it's within the rules, all's fair in football, imhmfo.

I see his point but his logic has a glaring omission.

The Colts could have started the game with an onside kick if they desired.

    and i agree

any coach worth his whistle picks up on opponents tendancies and builds his game plan accordingly. its called attention to detail and is what separates the winners from the losers.
