I am just trying to say that the Saints are lucky to have won that game. The vikings would not normally have that many unforced turnovers. Just one less red zone turn over and the Vikings probably win in regulation.

They turned it over 5 times, of course they should have lost.

Trent Dilfer said it best a few minutes ago, the better team didn't lose because the "better" team doesn't turn it over 5 times and have trouble in the huddle on the final drive of regulation. The better team took care of the football and made the plays to win.

A fucking coin flip doesn't win overtime. Make plays and you don't lose.

How is a turnover unforced when the other team knocks it out or catches it?

    He's thinking of tennis.

A rational person would have to credit the defense for stripping and recovering and also disguising coverages and making plays.

The Saints should have won by 20 points considering how many turnovers the Vikings had. They were lucky to win. Do not look for the Colts to have 5 turnovers.

Call it what you want, but the Saints were fortunate on four of the turnovers.

Late in the first half, Favre and Peterson botch a handoff exchange with no contact. That most likely cost the Vikings three points.

Early in the 4th quarter, Harvin fumbles after moving the ball from his right hand to his left. He never tucked it away and dropped it as he was getting tackled. The Saints returned it to the six yard line and punched it in for a TD three plays later. That cost the Vikings seven points.

Midway through the fourth, Berrian doesnt tuck the ball away and a soft hand to the ball jars it loose on the 10 yard line. Again, that most likely cost the Vikings at least three points.

At the end of regulation, Favre throws across his body and across the field for a pick. Had he simply pump faked it and ran it, he picks up the 5-7 yards needed to get a long FG attempt. Favre's first two options were covered so credit New Orleans for that. But his stupidity made him throw it back across the field. The game never should have come to that play...but it did, and Favre did what he does best when big games are on the line.

Shitty ball security cost the Vikings the game. But as Pi pointed out, good teams don't do that. Tuck the ball away like you are supposed to, and this game is likely a two TD win for the Vikings.

As for the original premise of this thread, I think the Colts cover the four points. I have no opinion on the total. It's just never been a proposition i cared for.

Guess the Colts gave the game away to the inferior saints also.
