Thats fair enough, and I'll admit I was wrong if Moore is our starter.

Btw I don't think nobody is as stubborn as Fox, he's got that market cornered. But you probably are more stubborn than I am,,, because while you were wanting to stick with Jake, if you recall I've wanted a change at QB for sometime now and I've been willing to try about anyone. Hell I even considered Tebow last week (I know I know, that was desperate, I backed off of that).

joke delhomme needs to do everyone a favor and solve this quandry himself by calling it a career.

moore has not had a strong preseason here yet. i don't think the job is his at all, and i wouldn't be shocked if 17 is the starter again if moore looks ineffective again in the preseason.

I am not sure that Jake ever had a stretch of games as good as the ones Moore put together at the end of last season. Jake's best stretches came when either Moose or Smith were just on fire. Moore was able to spread it around and get it done even with Smith went out. If it were a close decision then maybe Jake would get the nod but it is not close. Rodney Peete was never the starter again after Jake had his breakout game.

I am sure Jake never had a stretch of games as good as the ones Moore put together. Even during Jake's best years, he may play 2-3 good games but he'd always have his usual "WTF Jake" game thrown in the mix just for good measure.

Btw, I agree Moore's biggest asset was how he spread the ball around to different people, the other teams couldn't count on every pass going to 89, which was one of Jake's biggest weaknesses.

peete was pulled for performance. joke was put on ir.

personally i don't ever want to see him on the field in a panther uniform again. but i think fox will give him a fair chance to do just that.

A big problem is that JD apparently did much better in practices than Moore or anyone else. That is what you base your decision on, as a coach, insofar as who gives you the best shot at 'winning'. Preseason becomes a factor, but then again, JD has had the benefit of being on the field with the 'starters' and practice reps with them.

But it's really not until you see the bullets firing all around QBs in real games for extended periods, along with many reps with all the starters and a gameplan, that you see who's better than who.

Send the D after JD in prcatice and allow him to be hit/pressured as well as Moore and you'll get a much better idea of who's better. But they won't do that- nobody does.

You also can't judge a backup in for an injured starter for half a game, or one start here or there when things have gone to hell either.

It's really not until what has happened with Moore starting a number of back to back games, with gameplans for him, as well as practice reps with who's gonna be playing with him- before you can judge him efficiently.

Moore passed the test, imo, as giving us a better shot on a semi consistent basis, by judging his 'body of work' as Fox likes to call it- as far as how he played in his opportunities so far- the end of last year anyway.

JD is not bad, he just has gotten worse under pressure as time has gone on. The only thing he has done decent is play well devoid of pressure, and two-minute no huddle O.

I want Moore now, before JD, but who the fuk knows what Fox and Co is gonna do, considering JD's salary, etc. Plus JD could still outplay Moore in practice and preseason (again though, read avove as the pitfalls in that).

And nobody else knows right now WTF either. Probably because of Fox's usual persistence, loyalty, etc., with 'Fox guys', as well as JD's salary and still possible uncertainty regarding Moore.

I do know what Bilichik (sp) would do, he'd play Moore next year just like he did Brady, who replaced an injured Bledsoe.
