no idea how to make it better, either. The miami/pre-Super Bowl thing doesn't help.
Maybe make it like preseason, and the second half is the all-rookie team?

    that sounds good to me

hell, it would be twice the revenue for the leagues and owners (and players) if that was even two separate games . . . The All-Rookie Bowl might be a better show than the pro-bowl

I've never watched one before so this doesn't change anything for me. All thus feigned outrage over it is the most talk it has ever received.

it's less outrage and more ridiculousness. there's been more attention this year by design. that was the intention by moving it to the superbowl city and playing it the week before. i suppose because us idiot fans forgot about the worthless game and this would add “value” and “excitement” while creating a festival event atmosphere for the host superbowl town. the problem is still that the game is not a real game, it will never be a real game, and changing the date and location isn't going to dupe too many rubes into buying it as a real game. mlb and nba both have more interesting all-star breaks, but those sports don't work on the same level of physicality and violence of football. take that out of the sport for a “just for fun” all-star game, and we have the rubbish that is the pro bowl.

There's nothing the NFL can do to make this game compelling. All they've done now is put a bunch of mediocre players in a scrimmage against each other. Mags idea about having it in the preseason might have some merit. Make it the first preseason game, and more people will probably watch, just because they're eager to watch football. But I can't imagine many coaches would be thrilled about having this conflict with training camp.

The NFL should not have an all-star game, but as long as they're greedy fucks who want to squeeze every once of revenue out of the season as they can, the game isn't going away.

The pre-Pro Bowl party has started for me. I've eaten a whole box of cheez-its, and feeling sort of weak at the knees from excitement and anticipation. Also an upset stomach. Probably from the cheez-its. :wheelchair:

Peppers has a pressure already. Beason's playing (and running down kicks, yikes). That's all I'm getting out of this, watching our guys.

Kalil and DW in now. DW had a nice first down catch and a big drop.
McNabb looks like ass compared to Rodgers.
