By second chance I meant second job as a head coach with another team. but thanks for rehashing your anti fox argument again after you said you wouldn't.

I think, in my line of thinking, he could let Fox go for a guy on staff.

but I like the Dungy statement, as long as people don't expect much offensive or defensive change. Is your statement, to try to follow, that Dungy would be here a couple years with an heir apparent (i.e., Meeks)?

I think, to counter some of those statements, that they went back in 05 with a few upgrades and changes to their 03 master plan. Look at 2008 - they did that with a new OC, new backs/line, different main players on defense (even if it bore no fruit). It's not as if we kept what we had in 03 entirely, and were lucky enough to force that to stay around.

Well I agree with much of that Magnus, my point is that Fox has probably been on the hotseat for sometime now. You know there are many who feel he got a "pass" the year that Jake injured his shoulder.

No, I don't think that they plan that far ahead. If they plan ANY ahead - and i think they do - then they must have a replacement for Fox on tap, or they'd never have allowed him to just leave.

    Intrigue! Who is it?

Not many I want over Fox, but Dungy's one. Not many I could call an improvement OVER Fox, but I think Dungy is, and I think that would be a smart move by Richardson. Don't fire a coach unless you know you can do better - Dungy is better. And he was top choice last go 'round, and his defense is here.

    It just fits.

I agree that the thought process could well involve a desire to bring Dungy in (good insight) but am skeptical that he'd accept. If this is in fact the scenario I guess JR would have had to talk with him to see if it was an option though, and come away feeling that it was. Good fuel for discussion at least.

Fox and JR are supposed to be meeting today so if anything is gonna happen, we should know about it soon.
