good ol' 2001 hurts in the standings.

 

Hard to believe that '01 was the only year finished worse than 7-9. That's nothing to throw a parade about, but it still seems odd.

 

people underestimate the value of not being really, really shitty. Since "not shitty" is so hard to tolerate.

look at how many wins the saints had to have this year to catch up

Lions fans would probably read this forum and wonder what the fuck we were bitching about. They've lost 37 of their last 40 games. How that's even possible in the salary cap era is unfathomable.

 

St. Louis's fall from grace is pretty staggering. They're like the David Duval of NFL franchises.

Chip brings up a good point. I can see how people get so disappointed with 7-9, given as how we've only been worse than that twice. From that perspective, 7-9 doesn't look great.

speaking of mediocrity, seeing that Jets/Bengals wild card commercial reminds me of how little I care about that matchup.

 

It has to be top ten or very close.
