Actually Beason calling him out was the very week that Peppers started putting up good numbers,,,, coincidence or not.

It sounds like he hated Trgo. It is hard to tell what he thinks of Fox. I get the idea he likes Meeks.

Bottom line, he deserves a big contract. I am not sure just how big but he is going to get a big pay day here or somewhere else. Offer it to him here and if he stays fine. If he walks that is fine too. We can move on without him if we need to.

Johnson and Brown as our starting ends next year sounds pretty good to me. Add some depth behind them and we are in good shape at DE.

Once Peppers signs this large contract he is going to coast for the remainder of his career, playing at 50% speed. If he goes to a new team, he'll maybe play hard the first year, then coast. Not worth it.

He signed a big rookie deal here and did not coast, not all the time anyway. He is never going to be the beast he should be based on his talent level but he is still one of the best DEs in the league.

    He's no longer a rookie. He'll coast.

I do not think he will coast but I do not think he will be the dominant force that he should be. I am good with paying him like he is one of the top DEs in the league because he is. I am not good with paying him like he is a game changer ala Lawrence Taylor in his prime.

No question but I don't think he will get that deal in Charlotte. Is this headed to the franchise tag again ?
