I think it is pretty clear that Moore needs to be penciled in as the starter for next season. Prepare him as such in the offseason and through camp. If you must keep Jake then make him the backup right now and let him know that his new role is as the backup. I think Jake will take that OK. If Moore flames out next year when teams know more about him and are able to game plan for him better then you can always stick Jake back in there and hope his arm has some how healed itself.

I would rather send Jake home and sign a veteran to be the back up whose arm is still functional.

sometimes moore really puts the ball on target, balls jake got scared to let go of. all that talk about shitty receivers besides smith - how would any one know if they were any good or not w/ jake this year?

    Yep, Moose included.

Additionally, there was alot of talk about Jarrett looking great in practice. Maybe he looked great grabbing balls that weren't thrown by Delhomme.

If nothing else, the Matt Moore situation has my hopes up.

Defense played a lot better down the stretch, allowing us to sit on the lead and play conservative offensively...

I've always liked Matt Moore's ability to play, and I think he's proven that he can play again. I think anything less #2 QB at anytime would be crime. I hope he remains a Panther no matter who the coach. And if Jake is here, he won't have to wait for an injury to sit...

I think Matt Moore should be the starter and Delhomme the back up, since we already have to pay his salary anyway. I don't think Moore is the next John Elway, but if he keeps playing like he did with his opportunites this year, the Panthers should be a solid team next year. I think he shows promise.

Stats for Moore at Oregon State:

    Total yards: 5,733 Touchdowns: 29

If we just brought back the players we have under contract for next year on offense and planned on Moore being the starter I would feel pretty good about our chances. Jarrett and Moose looked better when Moore was playing. That being said a guy who strikes some fear in defenses across from Smith would be pretty sweet.
