Here's the biggest problem I see with Fox returning...

... if he returns, because (as many on here have agreed) his loyalty sometimes borderlines on stupidity, and at least a very bad case of stubborness. And that means with Asst.Coaches as well as players. With Fox, we can simply expect much of the same that we've had in the past, and if your happy with that, then great,,,,, but with Fox not much will change. And that also means you can expect Jake will again be your starting QB once again. Fox will NOT actively seek Jake's replacement in the offseason, and it don't matter how well Moore does these final games, as far as Fox is concerned the only way Jake don't go back to starting next year is if Jake comes to him and admits "he don't have it no more",,,,,,,, and that ain't going to happen.

I think Fox has done great things for this organization, but ultimately JR will have to decide if he wants more of the same. Because more of the same is what you'll get with Fox.

Disagree. Jake is done. I think even Jake knows it.

And if Jake comes forward before the start of next season and admits "he is done",,, I will admit I'm wrong.

My point is, if he don't take himself out of the equation, he will be Fox's starter.

And btw, I do believe Jake will be on our team next year (if he is healthy) even with a new coach, because of his contract.

It was not considered a no brained pick at the time. Lots of "experts" were calling for us to take Harrington. You do not pass up a franchise QB is what they were saying at the time.

I disagree with that. He let Hurney go. Trgovac is not here this year. He let Moose leave even though Moose is "one of his guys".

I think Jake is done as our starter. He might be back next year as a backup but I can't see him being the unchallenged starter again.

This response isn't to pick on you as your opinion is a pretty common sentiment expressed on this board. I find it curious how so many people fault loyalty (although the slyer posters like to refer to it as stubborness). I also find it curious the sentiments that its a fault to defend his players in public and that we should treat players as pieces of a puzzle to be quickly replaced. Maybe doing those things has become so commonplace in the business world that people are treated like numbers rather than as individuals with families to care for that it is the accepted norm. Admittedly, I'm an old fart whose never been able to keep up with the new generation, so I'm still inclined to rather to work for a man that treats me with respect and even as a friend, is loyal to his employees (not just in word but in deed), and doesn't slay me in front of the world (but comes to me and discusses my performance or lack thereof in private). I still prefer to work for and with people that rather than making excuses and backstabbing, seek solutions.

My gut is that Fox's "faults" pay dividends with recruiting free agents and getting players to stay and do their jobs to the best of their abilities. Sure some players are not going appreciate Fox's "faults" and won't reciprocate the loyalty and will treat the organization as a mere conduit to enriching their pockets, but i don't won't that type of player anyway. I don't mind enriching them but if that's their only priority, I'd rather they enrich themselves somewhere else that will treat them like they treated the Panthers. Just a number.

agree, though not dominant talent. We've drafted well but haven't been able to do much in the market since 06. It's enough to stay competitive, but there's an inference there that we should be consistently dominant, and I disagree with that.
