Fortunately we don't have to do anything but watch and see what plays out and what the owner does.

Yeah we might as well shut the message board down and not even worry ourselves with posting here...

Hurney has to be fired. The cap situation is untenable and that's his responsibility.

Last night was great, but I still think we need a new start on the coaching staff. Fox has been an average HC despite having some of the best players in the league on his roster. I just don't think any other candidates could do much worse, and the upside probably outweighs anything that could go wrong.

I said this in the game day thread but it could be as simply as Minnesota running an almost pure West Coast Offense and the Tampa 2 that Meeks runs was invented to stop that type of Offense.

I still have lingering concerns over both coordinators, but I'm impressed that John Fox has the team playing hard even with nothing to play for. I'd say hang on to him if we can.

I thought the Cover 2 was started by Steelers back in the 70's.

edit: nevemind, I remember they were playing in the same division with Bill Walsh in Cincy

that sounds like famous last words to me...... If we dump Fox we go from a guy who does no worse than 7-9 and has a playoff team every other year or so to an unknown. The average NFL head coach does not do anywhere near as well as Fox has done. All of his 7-9 years have been years that had a lot of injuries. When the team has been healthy he has gotten them in the playoffs.

the first part of that, re: Fox, seems realistic. A new start is something I could see people wanting. I don't however see "any other candidate" just automatically making this a much better team. I think you're really overvaluing our talent.

The Vikings game was great, but it just shows that this team DOES HAVE talent.

As for Fox, I don't think there's no question he has to go, the team needs new direction at this point. Thought it was interesting that (during the game) the announcers were discussing the fact that Fox has remained with the same team (us) the 3rd longest tenure of alltime,,, counting coaches who have NEVER posted back to back winning seasons. Fox obviously has always had consistency problems, he's stubborn and I think his loyalty to Jake (this season) went off the charts into the stupid category, and it definitely hurt the team.
