    1. Hope to God Nawlins is looking past us.

    2. Play the most physical game ever.

    3. Run DW and JS until their feet bleed.

    4. Threaten to shoot Jake's horses if he throws a pick.

    That's all I got. :frown:

Tell Peppers that Beason will call him out again after this game unless he has five sacks, two picks and scores at least one touchdown.

IS it my imagination or is a lot of Brees stuff timing pattern? Seems like you disrupt the timing by blitzing + chucking the receivers at the line (god forbid the Panthers would do that though)

Getting physical with recievers at the line would help. Got to have coverage behind it, cause Brees and his recievers will eat up a blitz.

I think our defense will hold up fairly well. I am not saying they will shut them out by any stretch but if the running game is clicking and we do not have any turnovers or special teams blunders I think we hold them in the low twenties. We have a decent shot I think.

    Shockey.

edit to add: is Brees' security blanket and I don't believe we have an answer for him.

Yes. That's what I saw last night. Get in Brees face and have your CB's playing man. Got to get to him though. He's got great vision and will find the open guy downfield if you let your blitz get picked up.

How cool is it we are even seriously entertaining this discussion? This time last week we were using the take a number system for folks leaping off the wagon at high speed.

heh. well...we have a chance. it's not as if we don't, in theory, have the personnel to exploit their weaknesses. it's probably a greater chance that we get 40 dumped on us and look like the best of football follies dvd, but if our ifs go in our favor...

Getting pressure on Brees is essential. Atlanta managed to get to him a few times and he turned the ball over.

Blitz to the inside, Brees is a solid QB, but he's not a scrambler, so you can still rush the inside gaps to contain the run as well. Don't forget, their pass is outstanding, but their run is as well.

The last two weeks Brees has had the advantage of playing teams that do not get the pressure Carolina gets with their front four. Meaning hopefully on downs we do not blitz, we can still atleast collapse the pocket and force Brees to throw the ball before he is comofortable.

Mix up the blitzes, move people around on the line of scrimmage, and keep Brees searching for where the blitz is coming, then bring it from the other side.

Contain Shockey, believe it or not I believe in order to do this we have to get a lot of pressure on Brees early with our front 4 to keep the backs in the backfield to protect, leaving the LB's to focus on Shockey off the line.

Kick the ball between the numbers and the sideline, give Bush 10 yards down the sideline to prevent 50 the other way.

Remind your receivers of what happened last week vs Atl. Brees threw a lot of timing passes in which he threw the ball to a spot and let his reciever go get it, many of which very pickable balls, a lot of these throws were in Atl territory, put your safeties over top, so you can let your CB glance back at Brees occasionally.

Long story short; keep Brees guessing, don't forget about the run, and stay physical with the receivers.
