I'd take Jeff Fisher, if he gets whacked. Dungy.

I dont see much difference between Fisher and Fox, honestly. If you want to go that route, just keep Fox.

If we're really going the route of change, might as well bring someone in that coaches the 3-4, because most of the really good defenses seem to be going that route.

The Delhomme question is tougher. I really want to see Moore get a fair shot (5-6 games) to see what he can do. We have to get someone on the other side of Steve Smith, to really have a shot. Best QB in free agency next year is Jason Campbell, who is for sure an upgrade over Delhomme, but he's not a sure thing himself.

Fisher virtually the same thing as Fox, so that would be a waste. Same with Dungy. Same with Cowher, too. All of those coaches have underachieved with good teams. I think if we hired any of those guys, you'd end up with many of the same problems that we have right now.

If we make a move, I'd like to go with a younger, energetic offensive guy. Brian Schottenheimer would be at the top of my list. He's competent. He's been coaching in the NFL since 1997, so it wouldn't be a Raheem-esque hire. He has coaching in his blood, and he's been around the NFL environment all of his life. I don't get the sense that it would be overwhelming for him. I think players could respond to him, and he could probably put together a solid staff. Gruden and Shanahan are two other appealing choices, but neither one of those guys are foolproof either, and I'm not crazy about the system that they would install or their schizo-tendencies with the QB position.

QB will be tough. We won't be able to draft anybody worth a shit, so 2010 will be a stop-gap year. Hopefully just some veteran who doesn't kill us. Jake is done. I wouldn't even bring him back as a low-cost back-up. The team needs to clean themselves of him.

I would just as soon stay with Fox. His system works he just needs a QB who does not turn the ball over a lot. No system works when you turn the ball over a lot but a ball control team that wins with defense certainly can not win with a lot of turnovers.

I would like to see us add a steady veteran QB in the off season to be the new starter. I am not sure who will be available. Jason Campbell is worth a look. Marc Bulger might be cut since the Lambs are rebuilding. There will be some decent guys out there, there always are.

I don't want Fisher bur I don't see him as stubborn as Fox by any means.

Gruden would be interesting, based on the way he gets wood when talking about Smith and Peppers

Lots of bad 3-4s out there too, lots of good 4-3s.

Speaking of losing the locker room.

there's an enticing list already that will probably get added to at the end of the year. got to figure that zorn, phillips, turner, juaron, del rio, fisher, cable and maybe kubiak and morris all stand a good chance to become official on-the-market guys. so...
    cowher
    shannahan
    holmgren
    gruden
    fisher
    phillips
    turner
    kubiak
    zorn
    juaron
    del rio
    cable
    morris
    haslett
    fassel
    the other 2 ufl guys
    the usual 2-4 college guys

but if it's not cowher, and it may not be, then i think they pass all the big names and go with a mostly-unknown coordinator.
