Your first post in this thread told me that you don't know shit about football and probably never played a live snap in your life.

Jake doesnt read defenses, thats pretty apparent at this point. If he did, i'd like to think Smith did the right thing, the corner had the inside, so an outside throw might have worked, of course, if i remember correctly, there was a safety over top so thats probably picked too. Either way, there was double coverage on Smith on that play.

The ball was underthrown and to the inside and into double coverage which are all bad. Moose didnt look like he gave a ton of effort but that was a horrible throw again into double coverage.

Maybe Jake and SS work on breaking that route outside if the quick slant gets jumped, who knows but the bottom line is there is now way Jake should have tried to force that ball in even if SS stays inside. It is a high risk throw for no gain.

Well, the safety was late getting over and had already made the mistake of letting MM get over the top of him so the only place that ball should be missed is long. You will almost never see Brady or Manning under throw that ball. They miss it long quite a bit but that is how the position is played. Making sure your guy is the only one who has a chance to make the catch.

Bottom line, as you said, both were terrible throws which puts the blame on the QB. Period.

A slant isn't a high risk throw if the receiver gets inside. And it was 2nd down, not 3rd and long. Even if it's just a five yard gain, it's helpful, but with Smith, it could have turned into something longer. Jake sucks, but that one was not all on him.

Alls I know is what I know........

....so I'll sling snot your way. You have no clue. Under throw the ball? Did it ever occur to you that "maybe" Jake picked up on SS route change and threw it in the dirt so that all the naysayers couldn't bitch about him throwin another INT? If Jake had an offensive line that could keep him covered to read defenses then we might see a different team.
    Thats what I know.

Anytime you throw the ball over the middle to a covered route in the NFL it is a high risk throw. Trying to force a ball in for a 5 yard gain is high risk for small rewards. It's a stupid throw and the fact that it was a pick 6 proves my point.
