You can talk about the anomaly (Dilfer) all you want, but if you look around the league, you win with a great QB.

Tell me, do you think the Pats win that game Monday night without a Tom Brady?
Does San Diego win theirs without a Philip Rivers?
The two teams picked by most to win our division Saints (Brees) and Falcons (Ryan).
The Colts are good year after year because they are elite at QB (Manning).

This league isn't hard to figure out. You win at the QB spot.

3 out of 40 something, I'd say that's the textbook definition of an anomaly.

Which is why Fox/Hurney's insistence on not taking a chance in the draft is stoopid. Except for the fact they undervalue the QB position.

What teams have been the most successful (over the long haul, not one year wonders), teams with outstanding quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Donavon McNabb.

And it'll be 2011 before they get the chance as the Panther's traded their 2010 pick.

No, you win with defense. The Pats defense was fantastic in all of their Super Bowl wins. Last year, Rothelisberger was not the best QB in the game. But the Steelers were way better on defense than the Cards.

San Diego went 8-8 last year, as did the Saints.

    Shhhhh...

It is stupid, but they don't really have a track record of developing QBs. Plus, there is no reason to believe that Jake couldn't get the job done. He did get the Panthers to the Super Bowl and the team was 12-4 last year. I don't think anyone actually believed that the playoff game was going to happen again in the season opener. They gambled and lost, for the time being.

The Steelers did pretty well with some crap at QB, unless you consider Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox outstanding. The Broncos did pretty well with some not so great QBs either. Guess they were just anomalies too.

There are other picks in the draft, not just the first.

I'd rather take a rider on Superman Tim Tebow with a 1st -em 2nd round pick next year than any of these clowns
