I got rid of my rebel XT and looking for a step up from it. I like the new XS/XSi series. Any other Canons right now with better value than those.

I'm not looking to spend a boatload on the boady. I still have my 28-135mm IS lens and my 430 EX Flash. Looking to purchase another lens, probably wide angle.

The T1i is flat out awesome, but it's still new, so I'm not sure how cheap it can be gotten for.

if I were shooting Canon, I'd just step up to a used 30D or 40D. Granted, bodies aren't anywhere near as important to me as lenses but I checked out a 50D and was impressed. On keh.com, 40Ds are in the $800 range and the 30Ds below $600. They're legitimate upgrades, though of course with the newer technology you'd be missing out on some megapix (really not a big deal right now). I'm sure with the T1i being out, the XSi is cheaper, so that'd be a legit upgrade but similar to what you had.

check slickdeals.net for good deals on bodies or kits. I've seen the T1i on there. It's great that it does HD video but I'd as easily buy a $300 HD handheld camcorder that'll store its own data and use that for what it does. I don't buy SLR to have a one-fits-all deal, I do it to have the best I can have with still photography.

I guess the best question would be:
what about the XT didn't you like?

I definitely liked the contour of the body and how it felt in my hands. That was the main reason I chose Canon over Nikon.

The t1i and the Xs series fits the same bill.

Features wise I either go manual or Av mode so there's not much anything else I use on the camera.
