Only three of these guys look to pan out by their rankings. Cantwell was a top 10 ranked QB, Cadogan around a top 10 OT and Davis was mid-pack of the ranked OGs. All the rest were either NOT ranked or at the bottom of their positions.

Defensive tackles Harvey and Kershaw will most likely be camp bodies. Harvey did not rank on two sites I looked at--one ranking the top 50 DTs. Kershaw did not rank on one site (they only ranked the top 30) and ranked 40th on the other site.

    Whoo hoo DEPTH!!!

    Three more were added:

    - LB Mortty Ivy (West Virginia)

    - S Anthony Scirrotto (Penn State)

    -DT Marlon Favorite (LSU)

I checked these three out and all were mid-pack of their positional rankings. When I say mid-pack, SI ranked many positions from 50-70 slots. Therefore, by middle of the group we are talking about the 25th-35th best of their peers.

The LB from Purdue sounds like he could maybe stick around on special teams if he's got speed and can tackle....

The final 3 undrafted college FAs coming to the Panthers are:

    -LB Mike Juergens (Wyoming)

    -OT Garry Williams (Kentucky)

    -CB Derrick Clark (Idaho St.)

Again, low or unranked players at their respective positions. Camp bodies if you will.

The final tally is 20 college FAs. As per Gantt that will be all.

Favorite was fairly strongly ranked before the season started.

He only managed to be a part-time starter. I imagine that hurt his billing.

That is probably why we picked him up. I am not sure who our back up center is at this point.

Our backup center is second-year man Makenzy Bernadeau (sp) who played at a DIV III school and has never played a snap in the NFL.

It would help to have a verteran there.

There will be some competition at quite a few depth spots. At this point I feel pretty good about Catagan and Robinson, but that center spot is up for grabs. It'll be interesting to see how the FB and HB spots unfold. Hopefully we find a returner with an afterburner.
