    It may be the Rambling Wreck inside speaking but it makes me feel a little better about $20 mil guaranteed for Jake. At least Jake has taken us to playoff games.


    This is very similar to the Glenn Robinson situation in the NBA. I can see the Rookie Salary Cap in the NFL coming full-force.

    They probably should have went OL. They do not have enough talent for Stafford to succeed. If they start him too soon it might destroy him. After what Ryan did last year though you know he will be on the field right away.

    $41 million guaranteed for a guy who is 50% likely to be a bust, I would not want the first pick in the draft....

    41 mill to take a guy who will spend most of his time trying to dodge large guys if different colored uni's because they don't have an OL to protect him. Sounds like David Carr with the Texans. You know at one time he was actually a decent QB till the accumulated sacks turned him into the godawful QB he is today.

    I don't really know how to feel about Stafford. Even though he's never been in trouble with the law or anything like that, he still has character and leadership issues. We'd see him out in the bars down here on Thursday nights getting drunk out of his mind, and then the next day they'd have to get on a bus and go to an away game and play on saturday. He did stuff like that constantly, and also their have been several news articles down here from players on the team hinting at him being a terrible leader and kind of an a-hole and saying him leaving might help the team. Last year UGA had like 13 offseason arrests and this year they have zero, and people have said Cox is a much better leader than Stafford (obviously lacks the physical tools Stafford did), but Cox is the person Stafford is spooning with in that first picture above at Talladega. I do think that can't be good when people on your own team (especially a college team since they don't seem to talk out as much as the pros) say you are a weak leader. The Lions do have another first round pick at #20 and everyone has them picking Michael Oher from Mississippi so they will address their OL needs and Oher would be a great pick, but 41 million is just way too much.
