I was pretty young when the USFL was in tact, but I remember watching it and enjoying it. Shoot, if you look at some of the rules, it could be a great league to watch.

PFT said it might become a bit of a farm league. Maybe that's its best path if it intends on surviving, the league needs something like that to become developmental now that the NFLE situation is done.

I have respect for the head coaches there. If they can emulate any USFL type success, it'll be good for the pro football community. It won't last, it never does. But there's no doubt that the original AAFL, the AFL, the USFL, and even the XFL to a point had its place.

Agree that the UFL and USFL will be farm leagues. I think the NFL really misses NFLE for player development, and the Arena league hasn't done the job. I'm actually looking forward to seeing it happen.

I don't think an NFL farm league would do any good. For players entering the league and who aren't polished enough to play yet, there are enough practice squad spots available for the ones who actually have potential. The only purpose I'd see in any type of minor league is a place to get recycled camp fodder.

more game reps is the only difference. You spend most of your non-drill time in NFL practice during the year being out of the fucking way or pretending you're a guy they're scouting.

Granted it's like a lot of these other leagues. A few guys get better from the experience and most of them weren't and aren't any good anyway.
