they aren't giving up their QB people, only way it was remotely possible was if they got Cassel in the deal becuase of McDaniels

Pats reportedly could've gotten a 1 and more from the Broncos, and apparently chose not to. Plus, the 34 pick is all but a 1. Teams don't like to give away 1sts, but they still do it.

I was surprised that Faulk and Moss each got as little as they did. Still, QBs have had a higher trade premium over time. Still, with both of the above and with Cassel, you had a very motivated seller.

That and, according to King, teams were rightly wary of Cassel being a product of New England's system. He's not a great talent, he's just one of a hundred. :whistling:

it won't happen, for two reasons. I don't think they're looking to get rid of him right now anyway, and if we make any moves they need to be with the ability to improve our defense.

Cutler is a legitimate upgrade, but giving up a chunk of defense when it's the weak part makes us much more like the Saints than we'd want. We'd have to hope we could score every time to win a ball game. I'm not interested in that and Fox didn't look happy with it when it happened last year.

The #34 pick is more valuable than the #3 pick by virtue of its massively lower salary.

another reason why the tag and trade for Pep isnt gonna work-a 2 for a franchise(his label though only time will tell) QB-i dont see much more for an elite DE or transitioning 3-4 OLB whatever Pep considers himself-the big idiot level multi pick trades are a thing of the past IMO

the cowboys screwed themselves last year w that roy williams trade and the vikes really gave away too much for Allen conidering they need a QB and a reciver or two
