I guess it does depend on the knee. His last year wasn't very good - if he's pretty cheap, he could add something, but he's not good enough to put Lewis on the bench.

We'd also need a fairly high draft pick to put into DT, which isn't a bad idea anyway, but a guy with a sketchy knee does make it a bigger priority.

As for the c2, I'm fine with it. Criticism of it being too small a D, I don't buy that. Tampa wasn't too small wth Sapp and McFarland, and the Bears are average sized.

It won't keep Peppers from having responsibilities, but if he were used more like Freeney, that might make everyone fairly happy. This is under the assumption he eventually takes the high dollar tender, but who knows. If we ended up replacing him, I do like the track record of small rushers by both Meeks and DL coach Baker.

I don't know how much we're reading into Beason's words, interpolated to Gantt's, and then out from there. I don't know we're definitely going C2. Either is reasonable to me - going to a system employed well by the new DC, or staying with the system that's in place, which is typical of many changes like this. I never saw Fox "wanting to run his system" as a travesty.

I'd like to see us make a run at Igor Olshansky myself. I know he's a 3-4 guy, but I think he would do alright here, especially as a run stuffer.

I wouldn't mind seeing Igor in a Panthers uni. Not at all.
