I'm looking for thoughts on digital cameras. Nothing fancy but, just easy to use with good standard features. Everyone usually points to Canon but mine died within a year and I have three friends who's similar models, (ELPH series, maybe) all had similar short lifespans.

Last year I got a Fuji that was reccomended by Wolf Camera. I like it much better than the Canon I had.

Anybody have any opinions? Looking in the 200-250 range.

If you're looking for a simple point and shoot that makes a good photo, then I recommend the Canon S5 IS. Very easy to use, though it's larger than a pocket camera. 8 mega-pixel, image stabilization, 2.5 in LCD screen, decent zoom. You can find them on the high end of your price range. I've had one for a couple of years with no problems.

I got my dad one a few years back. He won't let mom use it so I might get her a much better one to teach him a lesson :)

Canon's are fine, but I'd stay away from ELPH's. They scare me.
