    I was not sure I wanted to sign him to a long term deal anyway. He is not consistent enough to warrant a contract that makes him the highest paid defensive player in the league. He will get that kind of deal somewhere though. I think there is less risk in letting him go than there is in breaking the bank for him and then him returning to his 2007 form.
