Arizona now has to hire 2 coordinators

The Arizona Cardinals have fired their defensive coordinator, Clancy Pendergast, according to the Arizona Republic.
    Our View
This will result in the Cardinals needing to replace both their offensive and defensive coordinators, as OC Todd Hayley left earlier today to become the new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Pendergast's defense was a big reason why the Cards finished with a mediocre 9-7 record in the regular season, but also was a big reason that the team made it to the Super Bowl as they played very well in the playoffs.

Kinda makes you wonder what Pendergrass had to do to keep his job. His defense played as well as anyone's in the playoffs.

His defense blew during the regular season, despite having a shitload of talent. A bagful of fluke turnovers in the postseason was the only difference.

Hard to call it a fluke after playing well in three playoff games and the superbowl.

They gave up 454 yards to Philadelphia, and we're the only ones this postseason who didn't score at least 20 on them.

I keep thinking back to that freak play against Atlanta when Dockett plucked away that bobbled handoff and scored a walk-in touchdown. That was seven points, and Arizona only won by six. If that play doesn't happen, Atlanta wins that game, and I think we would have beaten the Falcons the following week.

The '08 Cardinals had one of the luckiest playoffs runs I can remember.

you just do not see a coordinator fired after a superbowl that often....
